In my dream I am starting a new place of employment. I realize I have a very small desk in a crowded space. I'm a bit disappointed. Later, I report something regarding another employee and they discover I am scheduled for two many hours. The business closes everyone is in lines leaving. Later in the dream I am preparing fish, they are frozen. I realize as they thaw they are still alive. I transfer them to aquariums. When I go to feed them they get out swimming in the air. I spend time trying to capture fish, octopus etc. swimming in air around me. I think for a moment about getting my brother to help but do not ask him. I think he won't believe me it's happening.
Dreams often serve as a window into your subconscious mind, reflecting your current emotions, experiences, and underlying fears or desires. Your dream contains several key symbols and themes that can help us unravel its meaning.
The beginning of your dream features you starting at a new job. This often represents new beginnings, transitions, or explorations in your waking life. However, your disappointment at having a small desk in a crowded space suggests feelings of inadequacy or being overshadowed by others. This could reflect anxieties about your current role, self-worth, or concerns about your position in a competitive environment.
Your action of reporting something regarding another employee hints at feelings of responsibility or an obligation to uphold standards in your workplace. However, the discovery of your over-scheduled hours represents a possible sense of being overwhelmed or stretched too thin. It may symbolize worries about your workload or the expectations placed upon you. The imagery of everyone leaving in lines can evoke feelings of conformity or being part of a larger system, reinforcing a sense of anonymity in the workplace.
Transitioning to preparing frozen fish that turn out to be alive introduces a layer of complexity to your dream. Fish in dreams can symbolize emotional states or the unconscious mind. The fact that they are still alive as they thaw could indicate that you have aspects of yourself—perhaps emotions or ideas—that you have neglected or suppressed but are now coming to the surface.
Transferring the fish to aquariums could represent your desire to create a safe environment for your emotions and creativity. However, when you go to feed them, the fish (and octopus) swim in the air, indicating a struggle between wanting to nurture your aspirations and the feeling that they may be out of your reach—almost transcendent but elusive.
Your attempts to capture the fish swimming in the air depict a quest for control over your emotional world or aspirations—striving for understanding and clarity in the chaos. The thought of calling for your brother's help but hesitating highlights feelings of isolation or doubt. You might fear that those close to you won't understand your struggles or the depth of your experiences. This could signal a broader issue of communication in your relationships, where you may feel misunderstood.
Overall, your dream paints a picture of someone grappling with new responsibilities, the desire for control amid confusion, and the vital importance of emotional expression. It reflects a need to confront feelings of inadequacy while simultaneously striving to create a safe space for your thoughts and emotions. The vibrant aquatic imagery suggests that diving into your emotional depths—no matter how chaotic—may be beneficial, and perhaps reaching out for help could provide the support you need as you navigate these transitions. Engaging more openly with your feelings and with your close relationships may help you find clarity and confidence as you move forward.
